What is a Zine?
Zines are self-published booklets made out of a desire for self-expression rather than profit. They are usually produced in small runs and shared within communities.
Zines allow people to communicate ideas, stories and identities on their own terms.

Zines have a long history as cultural and rebellious tools. From early science-fiction fanzines to punk, feminist, queer and activist publications, zines have always been a way to circulate ideas that didn’t fit into mainstream media. They’ve been used to document subcultures, share personal stories, spread political messages and build communities across time and space.
Because zines are cheap, fast and independent, they’ve often appeared wherever people felt unheard. They are raw, imperfect and honest by nature and that’s exactly what gives them their power!

Get Inspired
Zines have been made by countless people all over the world and exploring existing work is one of the best ways to find ideas and get creative.
Make your Own
I’ve created a simple one-page A4 zine template with clear instructions on how to fold, cut, and assemble it.
You can print it, draw on it, write by hand, collage it, or design it digitally.
Follow the steps if you don’t know where to start!
